CHARITABLE GIFT ANNUITY

A charitable gift annuity allows you to serve the people of God while providing for your own income needs.  Through this simple arrangement, you make an irrevocable gift to the Church, which in turn pays you – or a loved one – fixed income payments for life.  At the end of your lifetime, the remaining gift is used by the Church for ministries that you have designated.

The Benefits of Leaving a Legacy Through a Charitable Gift Annuity

  • Income for life: With a charitable gift annuity, you can share your blessings while earning steady income that is guaranteed for life. Annuity percentage rates vary with age but are typically much higher than traditional savings accounts or CDs. It’s a great way to supplement retirement income.
  • Tax-smart: Since a portion of the gift is treated as a charitable contribution, you may qualify for an immediate income tax deduction.
  • Easy to fund: You can use cash or even appreciated stock to fund the charitable gift annuity.

  • Membership in the Vivos Christi Society: A charitable gift annuity entitles you to recognition in the Vivos Christi Society, which is our Bishop’s way of honoring those who are providing for the future of our local Church.

Getting Started

When you’re ready to take the next step, we can help you set up a charitable gift annuity that will benefit both you and the ministries you support. You can contact us by email at PlannedGiving@orlandodiocese.org or you can contact Ed Wardle, our Director of Donor Relations, at (407) 246-7193.

Currently, the minimum gift is $20,000 and the minimum age requirement is 60 years.

As always, we encourage you to discuss your plans with your tax, legal or financial advisor before making your gift.

Designate your Gift

A charitable gift annuity offers you the freedom to designate the gift for the benefit of your parish, a Catholic school, or a specific ministry that has touched your heart.  A Foundation representative will be happy to help you express your wishes when you finalize the necessary paperwork.  If you’re not sure which ministries you would like to support when it comes time to designate your gift, we have some options that we hope you will consider, such as the Peregrini Pro Christo Fund, which benefits Catholic school students, seminarians and senior clergy.
