October 2019

Dear Friends in Christ,

As a result of its partnership with pastors and generous donors like you, The Catholic Foundation of Central Florida this month won a historic number of national philanthropic awards, highlighting its ability to foster stewardship that improves the quality of life for children, youth, adults and families in the Diocese of Orlando. The Catholic Foundation won five total awards, including the top national Catholic stewardship awards in three categories: Annual Appeal Video; Annual Appeal Poster; and Total Planned Giving Effort. It won “Honorable Mention” awards for the appeal brochure category, and “Total Foundation Effort.” The awards were presented by the International Catholic Stewardship Council, which promotes and supports Catholic teaching about stewardship by providing education and resources for dioceses, parishes, and entities of the Roman Catholic Church. The Catholic Foundation looks forward to continuously serving others through its blessed partnership with pastorsparishesCatholic schoolscommunity stakeholders and generous donors like you.

Oct 2019 Special Collection Sister Diocese Water Smiling Gir

This month, The Catholic Foundation of Central Florida is honored to support the Diocese of Orlando’s Second Collection effort to assist people in need at our Sister Diocese, San Juan de la Maguana, in the Dominican Republic. Our Diocese established this sister relationship based on love, faith, trust, hope and respect in 1983. To support this month’s Special Collection, The Catholic Foundation created a website at www.cfocf.org/give-sisterdiocese that so far has raised more than $8,500 from 62 generous donors like you. Thank you for being a living expression of God’s love by helping to educate, clothe, house, feed, medically assist and spiritually uplift our sisters and brothers in need.

This month, The Catholic Foundation’s Community Services team was honored to walk in partnership with the pastor, parish staff and parishioners at Our Lady of the Lakes for the parish’s Faith, Family, Future capital campaign information receptions. The campaign’s initial goal is to raise $800,000 for interior renovations of the Sanctuary and Nave. A stretch goal of $200,000 has been set to bless the Adoration Chapel with matching renovations, for a total challenge goal of $1 million. The campaign’s active phase will conclude in November, while campaign pledging and redemptions continue for three years. The Catholic Foundation is honored to engage with parishioners on their journey of stewardship and discipleship.

Catholic Foundation team members were honored to help sponsor and support the 16th Annual Harvest Ball at Bishop Grady Villas. Catholic Foundation team members were pleased to join Bishop John Noonan as well as staff, residents, the Board of Directors of Bishop Grady Villas and 475 other guests at the Harvest Ball. The event is a celebration of thanksgiving for the residents of Bishop Grady Villas, an assisted living facility in St. Cloud that supports persons with disabilities and helps them use their God-given gifts to achieve greater independence, physical and emotional well-being, and spiritual growth. The Harvest Ball raised $370,000 to benefit the Bishop Grady Villas Scholarship fund that ensures that individuals who are eligible for their services are able to receive them regardless of financial ability.
