FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Catholic Foundation of Central Florida ranks among the region’s biggest philanthropies

Orlando, FL – November 22, 2019

This month, the Orlando Business Journal (OBJ) ranked The Catholic Foundation of Central Florida as the 23rd largest nonprofit organization in Central Florida. The ranking was published in the November 1st edition of the OBJ, in a special section titled “2019 Partners in Philanthropy.”

The Catholic Foundation is a philanthropic and investment organization that partners with generous donors to improve the quality of life for children, youth, adults and families throughout Central Florida. It oversees more than $54 million in investments that are managed for growth and to respect Catholic social teaching. As a result of these investments, The Catholic Foundation this year has distributed more than $2 million to strengthen parish and faith life, and to address community needs in Central Florida.

“We are honored to work alongside and partner with many of the other organizations in our region who are addressing our community needs in Central Florida,” said Kimberlee Riley, The Catholic Foundation’s president and CEO. “We continue building relationships with our donors and stakeholders to create an equitable community where everyone has the chance to flourish.”

The Catholic Foundation’s philanthropic impact is far reaching: Through its investments, it supports education, housing, food, medical and mental-health assistance for the community’s poor and vulnerable populations. It also supports every parish and school in the Diocese of Orlando, as well as the spiritual and corporal needs of our community. The Catholic Foundation supports nonprofits in our region, such as Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, who are compliant with Catholic social values, and are also featured in OBJ’s philanthropy ranking.

Another vulnerable population served by The Catholic Foundation is adults with disabilities. The Catholic Foundation works with donors to support Bishop Grady Villas in St. Cloud, which provides residential, vocational and employment support for people with disabilities in Central Florida. This assistance empowers residents to reach their full potential through Christ-centered, personalized and holistic services and community support.

ABOUT THE CATHOLIC FOUNDATION OF CENTRAL FLORIDA:
The Catholic Foundation inspires giving to fund God’s work throughout the Diocese of Orlando’s nine-county area. Established in 2008, The Catholic Foundation is an independent, nonprofit foundation that has worked with donors and pastors to support our community. Its assets of more than $54 million in investments are managed for growth and to respect Catholic social teaching. We help individuals and organizations engage in philanthropy in a faith-filled way through socially screened investment options. These resources have built new and expanded churches and community centers to grow faith life in the Diocese as well as prepare seminarians for the priesthood and support retired priests. Additionally, these funds support education, health, housing and food assistance addressing community needs throughout Central Florida.
