Foundation staff shares Christmas cheer with family in need

Doris and MarcoIn the spirit of giving, employees of the Catholic Foundation of Central Florida joined together to share their blessings with a family in need.

Doris Quinones, Annual Giving Manager, coordinated the Foundation's Adopt-a-Family Christmas program in collaboration with the Diocese of Orlando Chancery staff, who helped to identify a local family currently struggling with financial hardships. Foundation employees responded by donating and gift-wrapping a total of 23 presents ranging from new clothes and shoes to toys and toolkits.

"We not only helped a family who would otherwise have had no gifts for their children, but we also showered them with love and hope," said Quinones. "In giving we are truly celebrating the coming of our Lord."

Gifts were collected on December 10 and will be presented to the family of four by Catholic Charities, which plans to contribute food for Christmas dinner.

This marks the fourth year that the Catholic Foundation has helped to sponsor a family during Christmas, and Meghan Post, President, is confident that the program will continue to be a part of the Foundation's holiday tradition.

"We are blessed with a team of talented individuals who view our work as a ministry and are willing to serve as authentic advocates of Catholic stewardship."
