The Catholic Foundation of Central Florida is partnering with generous donors like you to launch the holiday season with Giving Tuesday. Occurring on November 27, Giving Tuesday focuses on celebrating a spirit of generosity for others. It is a global movement that inspires people to give to local community causes close to their hearts. Generosity is part of our Catholic faith, as Proverbs 11:24 teaches us: “One gives freely, yet grows all the richer.”
It is our goal, with the help of wonderful Catholic Community members like you, to raise $2,500 to help students at Morning Star Catholic School get a new play space.
Located in the heart of Orlando, Morning Star is an accredited not-for-profit, tuition based school for special needs students. Since 1960, Morning Star has been working to fulfill its mission to provide children with special needs the opportunity to embrace their potential – to enable children to function more independently and guide them in their spiritual, academic, social, physical, and emotional journey. Morning Star has educated more than 2,000 children, giving them a more energized outlook on a life filled with faith and possibilities.
Currently, the school is undertaking an outdoor beautification project which will provide a well-defined outdoor space. Natural and outdoor play spaces support students in developing important skills including gross and fine motor skills, social interaction and cognitive development. An improved play space will keep students engaged and safe while encouraging them to test their limits and learn to overcome challenges. Components of the total project include green spaces, pavilion furnishings, outdoor games, a new and accessible playground and more for students to exercise their bodies, refresh their minds and fulfill their potential.
