Marta Sweeney

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

We are pleased to announce that Marta Sweeney, Vice President and Chief Community Services Officer of The Catholic Foundation of Central Florida, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the International Catholic Stewardship Council (ICSC). ICSC is an international organization committed to Christian stewardship as a way of life to strengthen local communities. It shares resources, best practices, and hosts an annual conference promoting philanthropy throughout the Catholic Church.

As a member of the ICSC board, which includes clergy and lay leaders, Marta is providing ICSC with organizational guidance and oversight and is a member of the Conference Planning Committee that is currently organizing ICSC’s annual conference this September in Orlando.

“It is an honor to serve on this Board of Directors representing Region 14 which encompasses, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina,” Marta said. “I have been a member of ICSC for many years and have participated in many events with them. The organization is an excellent source of stewardship education throughout the world.”

In September 2019, Marta was promoted to Vice President, where she leads the Community Services team in supporting parishes, schools and other diocesan entities with personalized hands-on assistance for offertory, capital campaigns, and Our Catholic Appeal. Marta has served the Diocese of Orlando and four of its Bishops since 1992. Before serving The Catholic Foundation as Vice President, Marta was The Foundation’s Director of Annual Giving since 2011. During that time, the Annual Appeal has grown from $11.5 million to more than $16 million. In that role, Marta worked closely with parishes to strengthen their stewardship efforts and increase their annual offertory giving.
