Dear Members and Friends,

I am truly blessed to be part of this welcoming community which is called by God to foster a love for the liturgy which encourages compassion for people, inspires holiness, and nurtures an intimate relationship with our Lord, Jesus Christ. Having been a part of this parish for the past three years, I have seen how our spiritual family is as supportive and loving as Christ is with each of us. Our faith community has united our time, talent, and treasure for the glory of our Lord. This generosity provides a tremendous opportunity for us to serve our community in a meaningful way.

As you may know, St. Mary has undertaken the journey to become a Next Generation Parish. This decision was grounded in the conviction we share with the Second Vatican Council that as Christians, we do not have a mission, we are a mission. Our mission is fulfilled by the enactment of the three-fold office of priest, prophet, and king indelibly infused within us at the moment of our baptism. Each of us is entrusted with the spiritual and temporal treasures of the Church; our grounds and our parish, our money and our talents, our families and our children. All these things have been commanded to our care so that the Church may “pursue her proper purposes” for the sake of the Gospel. Through the Holy Spirit’s gift of prudence, St. Mary Catholic Church and School will be a kingly people administering the goods of the Church responsibly and wisely for the salvation of Souls.

To that end, through our “Preserving a Place to Gather and Grow” Appeal, we will secure funds to implement a comprehensive repair and maintenance program for all our Parish’s buildings by January 2021. In no particular order, these projects include: a new chiller for the church, remodeling the confessional, safety fencing for the school, new church lighting, remediating the Church tower leaks, renovation of the social hall, replacement of the school plumbing, fixing the large depression in the parking lot, cleaning out the overgrown culvert at the rear of the Church, replacing sidewalks, repairing the roof of the old chapel, repairing the screen enclosure at new offices, improvements to the memorial gardens, and renovations of the food pantry and Helping Hands program. These reparations and maintenance projects are necessary to the safety and future of our parish, and to continue carrying out our mission of creating and encouraging an environment of academic and spiritual excellence where children can grow in the knowledge of God and are formed to become the Catholic leaders and missionary disciples our world needs.

I ask you to please review this pamphlet and prayerfully consider how you can support the campaign. Let faith be your guide and generosity will follow. The support of every member of our parish community will help us achieve our vision of becoming a shrine, a place of pilgrimage, and a house of prayer dedicated to our Mother Mary.

I thank you in advance for your generosity, and may God continue to bless our Community.

Other Gifts: Stock, Mutual Funds, Property, Life Insurance, Annuities, Wills, or Bequests

There are different ways to support St. Mary both today and in the years to come. If you would like to make a gift of Stock or Mutual Fund, Property, Life Insurance, Annuities, Wills, or Bequests, please contact Madelyn Weed, CFRE, Vice President, Chief Donor Services Officer, at mweed@cfocf.org. If you would like to make gift from your Retirement Account, please contact the parish office, refer to your financial advisor, or contact Susan Hunt at the Catholic Foundation of Central Florida at shunt@cfocf.org or (407)-246-4803.

Federal and state laws on income and inheritance taxes encourage charitable giving. It may be particularly advantageous for some people to contribute stocks, appreciated securities, annuities, property, or other valuables. In many cases, the tax savings may be more than your original investment in the gift. Because each situation is unique, we urge you to discuss such donations with a financial adviser.
