October 2018
Dear Friends in Christ,

As the seasons change, and autumn soon gives way to winter, The Lord reminds us that his love for us remains steady.

All the days of the earth, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat,
Summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease
– Genesis 8:22

Similarly, The Catholic Foundation remains steady in serving you as we transition to a new season: We have entered a new digital season with the launch of our new, mobile friendly website and social media platform. As technology evolves rapidly, we want to ensure that we share the good news in ways that reach more people in our Catholic community. We want to share the good news made possible though partnerships with generous donors like you and pastors in the Diocese of Orlando.

Our new website (www.cfocf.org) is easier to read and makes it easier to donate to your favorite Catholic cause on mobile phones and tablet computers. It also has accessibility tools that can modify the website’s font sizes and color palette, or read website content aloud with the click of a button. Meanwhile, our new social media channels make it easier to:

Learning. Serving.

The Catholic Foundation
was pleased to join with hundreds of nonprofit leaders throughout the U.S. who attended the bbcon 2018 tech conference in Orlando from October 9 to 11 at the Gaylord Palm Springs Resort and Convention Center. The conference hosted dozens of workshops about best practices, including “Bridging Faith and Fundraising with Technology.”

In a spirit of partnership, The Foundation sponsored conference registration for a Diocese of Orlando colleague from Bishop Moore High School.

The Catholic Foundation is honored to be a sponsor for the upcoming events:

Date: October 27, 6:00pm to 9:00pm
Event: Soup Bowl Supper
Benefit Organization: Catholic Charities/ Pathways to Care

Date: November 10, 6:00pm – 11:00pm
Event: Catholic Legacy Gala
Benefit Organization: Bishop Moore High School

Everyone should plan for these important topics.  Are you and your family prepared for emergencies?  Not sure how or where to start? Are you procrastinating? These seminars will help you start or at least start thinking about important life and legacy planning for you and your family.

Thursday, November 1, 9:30am – 11:45am
Wills & Future Life Planning – Important documents like a Will and Power of Attorney are not just for the wealthy or older generation. You should have these documents and other important plans for you and your family. If you don’t have a plan, the State of Florida will make decisions for you in a way you may not agree with.
Retirement Finances – Understand and reduce retirement risks such as living a long time, overspending, inflation, market timing and healthcare costs. Make your retirement income last. Consider such questions as: How much will your retirement cost? Where will the income come from? What is flexible versus dependable income? Determine what your needs are as opposed to what your wants are.
Hosted by:
St. Paul, Leesburg, Holy Family Room, 1330 Sunshine Ave Leesburg, FL

A continental breakfast will be provided. This seminar is free, but seating is limited.

Please RSVP to the parish office at (352) 787-6354.

Casey Schroder will also be at these seminars to answer questions you might have about creating your Catholic legacy or the Vivos Christi Society.

The Vivos Christi Society is Bishop John Noonan’s way of celebrating and thanking you for your generosity for making a Legacy planned gift to your parish, Catholic school or diocesan ministry. You will be welcomed into the Vivos Christi Society and join the more than 800 members who share your Catholic values.

Would you like your parish or school to host a Catholic Legacy Seminar for your families and community?
