Our People

The Catholic Foundation is staffed by people passionate about working with generous Catholic donors to fund ministries that make life better for children, adults and families in Central Florida. Our team includes people with managerial, accounting, fundraising, database management and communications expertise. Kimberlee Riley

President

Kimberlee is a New Orleans native with more than 25 years of experience in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors where she has led organizational and community growth. Her expertise includes business development, strategic planning, public-private partnerships, education, governance, organizational culture, communications, and sustainable-revenue programs. Kimberlee helped to grow Busch Entertainment Corp. / Sea World revenue programs and profitability. She has supported the St. Louis-based Jefferson National Parks Association’s growth in services to 10 public land sites in six states, and diversified their revenue strategies. In Central Florida, Kimberlee has served Orange County government as a liaison with the Comptroller’s Office, Risk Management, Office of Professional Standards, and Human Resources. Her focus was to ensure communication, transparency, compliance and the implementation of best practices.

Kimberlee graduated from Auburn University in Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Trade and Economics where she was a member of the varsity swim team. Kimberlee believes in volunteerism and serves in various national and local roles including Board Member of Orlando, Inc., Board Member of the Central Florida Continuum of Care, Committee Member of the Central Florida Commission on Youth Homelessness, and Chair of the Affordable Housing and Quality of Life Committee for the League of Women Voters Orange County. As an advocate for affordable housing and quality-of-life, Kimberlee was selected for the 2017 Sadowski Affiliate Award. She is a member of the Leadership Orlando class of 1991.

Kimberlee has a stepson who played football and graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. She and her husband have two daughters at home, both student athletes – one in middle school and one in high school. Kimberlee and her daughters serve as catechists at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Winter Park.

Rosie Camous

Administrative Coordinator, Development & Events

Rosie joined The Foundation on April 2016 from Colorado Springs, Colorado where she worked at the Diocese of Colorado Springs as the Donor Services Coordinator for about 15 years. Her husband, Dave is the new Director of Operations at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Oviedo. Rosie and Dave love to travel and own a travel agency, which allows them to explore places, both domestic and international, now that their two children are grown and on their own.

Health and fitness are an important part of Rosie’s life. She is an ACE (American Council on Exercise) certified group exercise instructor since 1998 and a licensed Zumba instructor since 2013. She would love to start teaching Zumba in the near future.

George Garcia

Data Entry Clerk

George joined The Foundation in October 2018 as a Data Entry Clerk. George believes in working hard and being a dependable employee. He joined the workforce at the early age of 13. George is originally from New York City. He moved to Central Florida with his family as a teenager. George and his wife have two phenomenal daughters and a beautiful cat. In his spare time, George enjoys serving the community by advocating for the end of homelessness.

Rafael Gerena

Marketing and Communications Manager

Rafael joined The Foundation in 2016. He previously worked as an economics reporter for The Wall Street Journal, traveling the U.S. to write about job trends and economic policy. He also worked in a Communications role for The City of Orlando, and in global marketing. Rafael’s volunteering has included being a youth basketball coach, child-literacy group treasurer, and Editorial Board member of the Orlando Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Susan Hunt

Director of Finance

Susan joined The Foundation in 2013 as Controller. Susan is a CPA with an MBA from Rollins College and a Master’s Degree in Accounting from Stetson University. She has worked extensively with nonprofit entities, daily newspapers and manufacturing companies in both a financial and operational management role. In addition, she has served on the boards of numerous human service organizations.

Susan was born and raised in Central Florida and currently lives in Apopka with two Pembroke Welsh Corgis and two Maine Coon cats. She is the proud aunt of four nephews, including two in the US Navy, and one niece.

Kimberly A. Langlais

Vice President of Advancement

Kim joined The Foundation of Central Florida in 2017 as the Vice President of Advancement. With more than 17 years of Development and Fundraising experience, she has been involved in conducting a wide array of development efforts throughout United States dioceses, parishes and Catholic high schools (including capital campaigns, major gifts, planning studies, annual appeals, etc.). During this time, her involvement with Catholic projects throughout Florida, Mississippi, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, and West Virginia has raised in excess of $262 million. In addition, Kim spent four years raising funds for a homeless shelter in Fort Worth,Texas. During this time, she raised more than $10.1 million in capital funds to build the Women and Families Service Building, while also continuing the annual budget of $5.1 million.

A graduate of the University of Central Florida, Kim and her husband, Darryl, live in Harmony, Florida with their young son. In her free time, she enjoys triathlons, completing her first half ironman in 2015, and is hoping to get back to the sport as soon as possible.

Stephanie Patel

Data Analyst

Stephanie comes to The Catholic Foundation with more than 15 years of marketing, statistical and data analysis experience in the banking industry. Stephanie has a B.S. in Business Administration from Arkansas Tech University and later went on to earn an MBA in 2005.

Stephanie and her husband have lived in central Florida for more than 30 years, where they raised their son and daughter, who now live in Chicago, IL and Dallas, Texas, respectively.

Kimberlee Peabody

Kimberlee Peabody joined the Foundation in September 2018. Kim has worked in fundraising for more than 18 years, lending her skills to several higher-education institutions and non-profits in upstate New York. She began her career as a paralegal and transitioned to donor-advised fund management, annual giving, major gifts, and Catholic campaigns. Kim graduated from Catholic Central High School in Troy, N.Y. and received her Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York in Potsdam, NY. Kim has lived as far north as the Canadian Border, in the central part of the country in Columbia, MO, and until now, as far south as Raleigh, NC.

Outside of work, Kim’s passions include: her family, husband Drew, her twin daughters, Emma and Brynne, and her son, Luke; constantly training her two rescue dogs, Bella and Duke; and spending time with her twin sister, Peg, who lives in Port St. Lucie, FL, and her mother, Pat, who lives in Fort Pierce, FL. Kim also fancies herself a closet chef and is an avid fan of the Food Network. Kim and her family now call St. Cloud home and are currently searching for their church home in their new neighborhood.

Doris Quinones

Annual Giving Manager

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Doris has been a resident of Orlando, Florida for nearly 25 years. She is a graduate of Lake Howell High School and earned an Associate in Arts Degree from Valencia Community College. She also completed additional coursework in philanthropy and organizational communication at Rollins College.

Doris joined The Catholic Foundation in 2008 to assist with the implementation of the Alive in Christ Capital Campaign. In her current role as Annual Giving Manager, Doris oversees an Offertory Enhancement Initiative that helps parishes to sustain and advance their ministries. Prior to joining The Catholic Foundation, she worked as a Financial Service Representative for Regions Bank.

Doris and her husband, Joey, have a young son, and a baby daughter. She and her family have been actively involved with St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, where her father is a deacon, for more than ten years.

Marco Robles

Gifts Manager

Marco was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, and moved to Florida with his family in 1988. He attended Catholic schools from Kindergarten through High School before coming to Orlando to attend the University of Central Florida. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice in 2009. During his time at UCF, Marco was a part of the Catholic Campus Ministry where he eventually met his wife, Michelle. They were married in 2014 at their parish, Most Precious Blood in Oviedo, and welcomed their son in 2016.

Beginning in 2007, Marco began working for The Catholic Foundation doing research and processing gifts for the Our Catholic Appeal and Alive in Christ campaigns. In 2012, he was given the opportunity of becoming one of the Gifts Managers where he has served since. Marco feels that as Catholics we are called to steward the gifts God has provided so that not only ourselves, but others may prosper. He likes to think that the small role he plays helps to provide the services and assistance for those most in need in our communities.

Crystal St. Julien

Crystal considers herself a native Floridian and is the product of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School and Orange County public schools. In addition, she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida. Upon college graduation she moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where she began her professional career in the areas of Administrative Support and Marketing Management.

Crystal has served as Gifts Manager for The Catholic Foundation since 2009, and she is the proud mother of a young son.

Casey Schroder

Director of Planned Giving

Casey Schroder joined the Diocese of Orlando in 2005, at the start of the Synod planning process. She returned in 2007, when The Catholic Foundation of Central Florida was established.

Casey received her Bachelor’s Degrees in English and History from Rutgers College, New Brunswick, NJ. She has served as a volunteer for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, New Jersey Chapter, and the Juvenile Bipolar Research Foundation in New York. Locally, in Orlando, Casey has served as a volunteer for the Westgate Foundation, and Morning Star Auxiliary. Casey is also a Founding Board Member for Women in the Arts, Orlando, and she has served as a board member for Bishop Grady Villas in St. Cloud, FL. Casey is currently an Auction Committee Co-Chair for the United Way Chef’s Gala.

Casey resides in Orlando with her husband, Gelson, and their three Chihuahuas. They are avid Disney fans, major “foodies” and enjoy golf when the weather is not too hot.

Dana SwansonWalker

Dana joined The Foundation of Central Florida in January 2018 as the Director of Data Management. Dana has more than 20 years of experience in data management and has worked with several local charity and nonprofit groups. Dana is originally from New England, born in Rhode Island. She moved to Central Florida, Brevard County, in her early teens. Dana is a graduate of the University of Central Florida. She is an active member of her church, serving in several leadership roles. Dana and her husband have three phenomenal sons and several rescue dogs and cats.

Marta Sweeney

Director of Annual Giving

Marta Sweeney has served the Diocese of Orlando and four of its Bishops for more than 26 years. Since January 2011, she has served as the Director of Annual Giving for the Catholic Foundation of Central Florida. Since then, the Annual Appeal has grown from $11.5 million to more than $16 million. Additionally, Marta works with parishes in the diocese to help them strengthen their stewardship efforts and maintain or increase their annual offertory giving. She works closely with pastors, staff and volunteers to help parishes maximize their mission advancement efforts.

The Sweeneys are founding members of Most Precious Blood parish in Oviedo, where Marta serves as a lector. She and her husband John have three wonderful sons, two beloved daughters-in-law, and two handsome grandsons – Mason and Duncan.

Karreta Thomas

Staff Accountant

Karreta graduated from The Northern Caribbean University in Mandeville, Jamaica with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, specializing in Accounting. After moving to Florida, she worked for four years as the Senior Accounting Clerk for a horticultural firm that breeds and grows indoor plants. She then joined The Catholic Foundation of Central Florida in September 2017 as a Staff Accountant. Karreta has successfully completed training to become a Certified Tax Professional. She endeavors to constantly improve her skills and abilities through arduous work and continuing education. Karreta’s goal in life is to serve God and care for her husband and two lovely girls.

Cindy Trent

Data Control Coordinator

Cindy joined The Catholic Foundation of Central Florida in August 2018 as a Data Control Coordinator. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and her MBA from the University of Central Florida. For the past 15 years, she has worked in the corporate world as an accountant, but her passion lies in the nonprofit sector.

The experience of volunteering with children and the elderly fueled her desire to be part of a community that makes a difference. Raised in Florida, she enjoys spending time with her beloved dog, Agnes; laughing with her family and friends; and traveling.

Chelsa Williamson

Executive Assistant

Chelsa joined The Catholic Foundation of Central Florida in 2017 as the Executive Assistant. In her current role, she assists with business processes and business requirements for the Foundation. She also provides administrative support to the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

She graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Leadership in the Public Sector from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina in 2015. Prior to her degree, she acquired over twelve years of experience nationwide in financial and commercial real estate services, providing executive and Board support to various organizations. She also provided extensive support in business reporting and documentation management. Since completing her degree, she has served in the public and nonprofit sectors continuing to provide reporting and high level executive support.
